Hands on History

We are an informal group for people interested in exploring family genealogy, local history or other history projects. We do this through presentations & discussions, sharing individual projects & initiating new ones. Plus there is an input from members with particular experience & expertise.

Mend it Mondays

New weekly, free group event. Join us to learn basic skills of mending: how to sew on a button; how to darn; how to add a patch. Learn some simple techniques and enjoy the mindfulness of hand sewing. No need to book; all welcome! Every Monday 4pm to 6pm.

Kirklees Library Services have a wide range of books, fiction & non-fiction, available for reading groups to borrow. We pick one a month from this list to read & discuss. Open to new members. Ask in the library for details

Free event, all welcome, no need to book. Refreshments available. Are books your guilty pleasure? We’ll discuss a range of authors and books TBC on the last Friday of every month. Which ones would you recommend? Bring along your favourites to read out yourself, or listen to others read.

Police Drop-In Sessions

Drop-in sessions do prove to be very useful for residents in and around the Denby Dale area. Come along to speak to us about anything you may have concerns about .Get information about Neighbourhood Watch and how to set up one on the street/road etc where you live.
