Our Charitable Trust
Since December 2013 we have been a registered charity (No. 1155111) and are constituted as a CIO (Charitable Incorporated Organisation).

Please note that, while we are registered with the Charity Commission as the Denby Dale Community Project, we operate day-to-day as Denby Dale Community Library and, for short, DDCL.
Our key partners:
Kirklees Library Services
Kirklees Library Services have been a staunch supporter since we started our project. One of our key aims has been, and still is, to retain this partnership.
In return for our providing the community building and library volunteers, Kirklees Library Service provides:
Training and updating of our library volunteers, in a range of library procedures
A paid member of library staff for 17 hours a week
On-going access to the full range of library services
Go to our Library page to see the full library services on offer.
The Kirkwood
The Hospice for Kirklees – The Kirkwood, has also supported our project since the early days and, alongside Kirklees Library Services, is our other strategic partner.
The Kirkwood provides palliative and end-of-life care for thousands of patients in Kirklees.
They already run a successful charity shop in our village and in addition, run the cafe in our community building.
Using their services will raise further funds to support The Kirkwood’s work, whilst the rental income they pay us contributes significantly to meeting our operating costs.
